Busy, busy, busy…

So many exciting things happening write now (lame, I know but I couldn’t resist). Although I’m not a fan of lists (mostly because I always lose them), here’s a quick rundown…

1. My essay for Parenting magazine is in the February issue. They were chatting about it on the Today show (!) and OMG… CNN covered it as well. Yikes–lots of comments, looks like the essay about ‘why women  lie’  hit a nerve.

2. I had two (very meaty) health articles in Newsday!  So far, I covered fitness: Made for TV Moves and beauty Foods to Help You Glow. Lots more articles are on the way. If you get the paper, keep your eyes out for my work in the health sections (pages B8-B9).

3. Did I mention I’m now the beauty editor of BELLA magazine? Sooo excited. It’s a beautiful, positive lifestyle print magazine:  www.bellanyc.com In the current issue I covered 5 pages of beauty (lots of tips and cool products)  and I wrote a HOT CHEFS feature–listing the top 10 hottest chefs in the region. (Apparently, I can stand the heat in the kitchen!)

4. I’m also doing beauty topics for the very well known Long Island Pulse  lifestyle/luxury publication.  Look for my first beauty review in the Feb issue: Is Shellac Worth the Splurge?

5. I’m the resident ‘cave-babe’ for CBS’s Mancave Daily (That ought to gloss up my resume, huh?) My latest: Buy Your Way Out of the Dog House,  SuperBowl Survival Kit and How to Make A Mean Chili

6. I’ve been the Parenting and Family Life columnist for The Long Island Exchange for many years–my latest is a Family Travel Guide to Sarasota.

7.  And yet another fun feather for my cap: I’m also a resident reviewer for Long Island Resturant News.  Most recent reviews: Nisen in Commack and Mirabelle in Stony Brook

A Very BELLA Holiday

Posted in Posts

Very excited to be named “Beauty Editor” of BELLA  magazine–I’ll be rocking my new title on the masthead  for the Jan/Feb issue!

In the current  holiday issue (with the very handsome Bret Michaels on the cover)  I cover the entire “Beauty Breakthroughs” section and I also wrote a feature in the middle of the book, “Create a Lavish Holiday Look” where I rounded up some fun items to make the holidays extra festive.  Oooh, and there’s a little blurb about me on the contributor’s page.

If you see the magazine on newsstands, please pick up a copy–so many great articles in there. :)

I’m the man!

Posted in Posts

I can now add resident cave girl to my resume!  For CBS’s Mancave Daily, I’ll be writing some fun roundups and give the guys a girl’s take on things.  If that title doesn’t gloss up a cover letter, I don’t know what will. Below are are the one that have recently went live.

But first…

Many have asked if I have any other funny essays. I wrote an essay for American Baby on how I tell the kids “The Man” will come if they are bad–that was rather laughable.  But if you remember, I had a (totally not funny at the time) health topic that I whipped up an essay about for SELF magazine. I got a lot of letters when this baby hit newsstands…At first I wanted to run for the hills but so so so many people thought it was funny. And the editors really saved my behind because this is a very watered-down version of the original I sent.

Well, here goes…consider yourself warned!

I’m dishing about my…girl crush! Check it out!
